Hum a strange, unmelodic sound. And then hum that on repeat.
No matter how absurd, if you repeat it, it sounds a little musical. More or less melodic. I guess our brain finds pleasurable anything that is simple enough that we can expect what will come next. Some pop music tends to do that.
Pop music bores after a while. Repetition wears out the ears. A small dose of abruptness always tastes delicious. It's uplifting, because it's unexpected. It's easy, because we don't have to feel obliged by any premeditation or expectations. But having just too much unexpected is too absurd. Having both is better. Then a little grace on top, mmm, that's the best.
